Essentials For Surviving Winter

October 19, 2014

As Ned Stark would say “Brace yourselves, winter is coming” and he would be right. The weather has taken a sudden turn and is now quite cold, so here’s what you need to survive winter:

  • Winter Coat: I don’t know about you, but I love digging out my worn-out winter coat and reaching into the pockets to find movie tickets and sweet wrappers left over from the previous winter… Plus, they help with the whole ‘not-freezing’ part of winter… J

  • Winter Mug: We all need that warm cuppa on a cold day; and what better way to enjoy it than in a festive (and sometimes tacky) Christmas mug?

  • Tacky Christmas Jumper: What could make winter more exciting than the thought of breaking out that tacky Christmas jumper you bought to embarrass your friends? Answer: Nothing, nothing is better than that

  • Cold remedies: It’s that time of year again when your nose begins to glow red like Rudolph’s and your voice begins to crack, no, I’m not talking about puberty, I’m talking about the fabulousness that are winter colds! Stock up on those cold remedies while they are still half price… you’re gonna need them!

  • Lip balm/chapstick: Go crazy, buy 10 and lose them all before you’ve had chance to use them, resulting in you buying another 10 and only using them once… don’t lie, we do it every winter. But they do help keeping your lips looking remotely human, rather than looking like some sort of zombie-lips from Shaun of the Dead.

  • Thick socks: I don’t know about you, but my feet turn to icicles in winter, that’s why thick (pink and fluffy) socks are a must-have; wear them to bed, to school, when you go shopping, to that Christmas party your parents dragged you to… basically, just wear them everywhere… everywhere…
