My Skincare Routine

February 07, 2016

As I mentioned in my January Favourites post, I have sensitive skin and need a tough but gentle skincare routine to stop my pores from being eternally clogged. I love the Clinique kit I have as it removed dirt from my face without being too harsh on my skin which is great! I don't use this process everyday, but once or twice a month I will use this routine to wash away the layers of make-up and dirt that has built up on my face. Here is my skincare routine...

So this is my face as soon as I have gotten out of the shower. As you can see, there's mascara running down my face (attractive I know) so I use the 'Take the Day Off' solution to remove the make up before I was my face.

Before using this, you have to give it a good shake so it looks like frothy soap. Then apply some to a cotton wool ball and wipe over your face - it can be used on eyes but not on lips as it tastes gross so make sure you take your lippy off with a regular make-up wipe. Also, take of the foundation before taking off your eye make-up as it tends to smudge colour on your face (I learnt this the hard way and ended up looking like a clown!)

After removing the make-up from my face, I use the mild facial soap. I pat warm water onto my face, squeeze some of the soap into my palm and wash into a lather onto my face. I like to make sure that my face is well washed so I usually spend a few minutes rubbing this into my face before washing off with a flannel and warm water.

When drying your face, remember to pat so it removes the oils- rather than pushing them back into your skin.

I then use the Clarifying lotion, I apply some to a cotton wool ball and, starting at my T zone, rub over my face. The first time I used this I experienced some small tingling on my face but using it the second time I felt no reaction. This simply gets deeper into your pores, extracting any remaining dirt.

I then moisturise with the moisturising lotion. Normally I would apply this onto my eyes but I have an eye lotion which I use instead but I apply this generously to my face. After all the washing and pore-opening going on my face is quite dry but after using this cream my skin feels soft and rejuvinated.

This is the eye cream I use, it is really thick so I don't need to use a lot but it leaves my eyes feeling fresh instead of cloggy as some moisturises do. I usually apply dabs of this under my eyes and then work around the eye as then my eyelids aren't greasy.

After washing my face, my skin feels really soft and looks so much better. I would definitely recommend the Clinique products to anyone as they do such a great job. All the products used will be at the bottom of this post.
